the nature of Couria Creek
Couria Creek is a haven for those who
adore nature. From the moment the first
sunrays filter through the trees and the
early morning mists rise up from the paddocks,
the chime of the Bellbirds and the sounds
of nature fill the air.
Colourful parrots
awake and dart about - a new day has begun. |
a healthy environment
Couria Creek is rich in flora with delicate
wildflowers blooming through late Winter
and Spring.
Intriguing fungi and lichen
are prolific after rain but you need to
keep a watch out for these, or you may
step on them.
Lichen requires clean air
to thrive, so this is evidence of a healthy
environment.

bird & wildlife
Large stands of eucalypt remain on the
property with Ironbark, Stringybark, Mahogany,
Yellow Box and Mountain Ash all providing
habitat for many of the 95 bird species
(• see the complete
bird list for local area) and also
local fauna.
Wildlife is abundant with possums, kangaroos,
wallabies, echidnas and large goannas
often wandering through.
Water dragons may also scurry into the
creek if disturbed - while wood ducks
drift across the dam.

natural experience
As the day ends with a brilliant sunset
and the birds are now silent, the only
sound is the distant croaking of frogs
along the creek.
This is the natural experience of Couria
Creek and Summercloud Cottage.
